WARNING - Offers To Buy Or Sell Outside Of EBay You may have received this message before as an eBay buyer or seller. It is the message that eBay send when their system flags up someone is trying to complete a transaction outside of eBay. But it's actually not only offering to buy or sell an item outside of eBay which flags this message. Any sharing of contact details now can lead to an account being banned. While this can make it slightly more difficult to communicate with honest buyers and sellers about the items, it is a policy that eBay are now pushing and looks like it will be here to stay. So the easiest practice is to just be careful and not send out any contact details until the transaction has been completed through eBay and the item has been purchased. This can save a lot of trouble with account suspensions and is definitely worth taking into consideration when interacting with buyers and sellers through eBay messenger. HUGE EBay Insertion Fee Policy Change - 1,000 Free Listings For Private Sellers!

EBay have recently announced a HUGE change they are making for private sellers that will allow them to list for free. Every private seller account currently gets 20 listings with no insertion fees, but this is now changing to a massive 1,000 listings with no insertion fees. Final value fees are staying the same, but this change will allow private sellers to list more without having to pay 35p every time just to list, which takes away the risk of having a cost if your items do not sell. This happens when their system has made an error and your tracking actually shows you dispatched on time or the item was delivered on time. However, there still seems to be times when certain late delivery rates are not automatically removed so as always it is best to keep an eye on these and call eBay to remove if needed. In this video we discuss how to increase listing allowances on a new account. The main steps are - sell off some items slightly cheaper than they are regularly selling on eBay (check the sold list!). Provide great speedy service and request positive feedbacks. Once you have a few sales and even one positive feedback, phone or live chat with eBay customer service. Tell them what you want to sell on eBay and why you need a listing allowance. They will usually do this straight away for you, but if not just say thanks and contact again straight away to get a different representative! Once you have enough listing allowances, don't stop there! A lot of information on this topic seems to edge to the idea that you should not purchase from anyone with less than 99% feedback, but this is a ridiculous idea! Don't Always Be The Cheapest On Ebay! With T-Shirt Printing Example

This video is about how to sell on eBay and why you shouldn't always aim to be the cheapest in your category. Too many people think that the best way to top other sellers on ebay is to offer a cheaper price, but with the competitive nature of most markets today, this is rarely possible. If you keep beating the prices of competitors, eventually there will be no profit left in the items you sell! T shirt printing is a great example of a competitive industry on ebay and one which has sellers listing at unbelievably cheap prices. Since making this video I found a listing for £5.59 in the UK inc delivery and this includes the t shirt with an A3 size print on the front of the buyers choice. The max I can work out the seller would profit from this after ebay fees, PayPal fees, t shirt, transfer or vinyl, packaging materials, postage, would be around £1. That has to then pay whoever spent 10 minutes making the t shirt and posting etc, as well as contribute to the initial cost of the machines needed and the cost of maintaining them or eventually replacing when they need. In essence, it's not worth the sale! Instead of always winning on price, it is important to look at other ways to one up your competition whilst being able to make the profits you want on any item. Since I'm on holiday I thought I'd make a quick video about the two types of holiday settings available to eBay shops. Both have their ups and downs, which are discussed in this video. One allows the items to still sell, but isn't very clear to buyers that they will have to wait. In fact the delivery date underneath the price still shows the same as if the seller wasn't on holiday, and only a small line appears at the top of the shops listings that says there 'may be delays' as the seller is away. This can cause problems when buyers do not see this message at the top (which happens often) and need the item quickly. However, it can be great to still be making eBay profits whilst away on holiday! The second option doesn't allow the buyer to purchase your items, but this can obviously give you more of a holiday and take away the stress of potential unhappy customers. If you say you will dispatch same day and use a next day delivery, it is always best to make sure you will be able to do this every time.
